Thanks to all, especially Elizabeth for your sharing. I read the archives, but have yet to see her book. This autumn I planned and led a workshop in my monthly meeting on Quaker decision making. The emphasis was on small groups, such as committees, and on what the individual participant can do. This was not a workshop on clerking, but the topic is related. We read selected materials, discussed and shared ideas and insights. I'll put the bibliography below, omitting some privately published items. Many thanks I was encouraged some months ago to consider writing an article entitled "The Art of the Clerk" - and there are indeed many ways in which the discipline of taking on the role of the clerk draws deeply on our intuition and creativity. I'm beginning to work on the article, and would welcome any input that members of this quiet list can offer.
